Technology Leadership
DTI provides technology leadership by providing infrastructure, standards, policies and best practices required to enable its customers to communicate, exchange information and provide services to the citizens of the State of Delaware securely and efficiently. DTI continuously evaluates emerging technologies before they hit the market and implements those services which will benefit our customers and in turn their customers.
DTI has enabled Delaware to be a national innovative technology leader on many fronts. For example:
- At the 2006 Oracle OpenWorld convention, Pam Waters presented "Getting from Here to There", a case study on best practices for managing expectations and preparing people for change caused by enterprise resource planning implementations.
- Cindy Bray presented "Getting Folks to Accept Change"at the Center for Best Practices Panel in September 2006. She focused on Organizational Change Management as an integral component of project management.
- Elayne Starkey, DTI's Chief Technology Officer, presented at Government Technology FUSION 05 on "Cyber Security -- Now...More Than Ever".
- Mike Malik, DTI's Customer Care Center Team Leader, presented at the 2005 National Electronic Commerce Coordinating Council Annual Conference on "RFID – Everything You Wanted to Know but Were Afraid to Ask".
- DTI was first to partner in the Security Cooperation Agreement with Microsoft.
- DTI was one of the first to use VoiceXML to serve its citizens.
- DTI helped make Delaware's website become the top portal in the nation.
- DTI is the first state agency to receive the CIO Bold 100 award, which honors the highest standards of competence, leadership and accomplishment in the Information Technology (IT) field.
- DTI employs two certified Project Management Professionals (PMP).
